About me

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, having completed my training at UEA, Norwich in 2004. I have worked in physical health settings in the NHS in Norfolk and Cumbria. I completed my EMDR training in 2011 and first gained accreditation as an EMDR Practitioner in 2014.

I have a particular interest in working with psychological trauma and with adjustment and acceptance around health conditions. As well as EMDR, I integrate cognitive behavioural, compassion focused and acceptance and commitment therapies into my approach. I primarily work with adults and occasionally older teenagers by arrangement.

I hold clinics in Kendal, Penrith and Carlisle, all in easy to find and central location. I am also available for on-line work.

All work starts with an initial meeting to begin to get to know each other, gain an understanding of your history and needs, and form a plan for working together.

Testimonials

Army Veteran, 2021

I just want to say thank you for all your support…for lifting my soul, my spirit and making me want to live my life again…the one hand of patience, support, understanding and strength who has given me my life back and finally self respect and worth.

Client with PTSD, 30’s

“…my therapist is phenomenal. I’ve now being seeing her for around five months and next week I have my final session. For me it’s been life changing. It’s not an easy process – … but I’ve always left each hour feeling a huge sense of relief having processed my thoughts in a way I haven’t before. I’ve dealt with things I didn’t even realise had been bothering me for two decades – it has been the most cathartic experience of my life.”
