Judi Egerton M.A. Dip. Psych. RGN RMN.

As a therapist and counsellor I can offer you a safe and confidential place to talk and take time to reflect. My role is to listen to you and use my extensive experience and training to help you make sense of your experiences, thoughts and feelings. My passion is developing potential in people and working with you to help you to achieve your aims. Diagnosis is less important than helping you to discover more about yourself.

I am able to offer both brief and longer term therapy in Penrith and Appleby and in some circumstances home visits.

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist with 37 years of experience working in the health sector particularly mental health services, and also an organisational consultant, mentor and coach and I provide bespoke training and development to teams and individuals.

I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

I’m also a BUPA registered consultant psychotherapist.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with an interest in systemic working. My organisational consultancy training used a systemic/psychodynamic perspective and has equipped me to think about both the individual and the systems we are dependent upon. This could be a workplace, family or partner.

I work with individuals and couples and work with all adults. As I am also a general nurse and mental health nurse I offer support to older people and those who may be in a caring role.

I am able to work with anyone who is experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or who may be going through a challenging period in life. This may be work related or related to past experiences or trauma.

Organisational Consultant

In my organisational consultancy role I have many years experience of consulting to and working within the public sector and third sectors. I offer mentoring and coaching to individual and teams.

I use the combination of my Tavistock organisational consultancy training with my experience gained whilst working as a psychotherapist to offer an in-depth understanding of the workplace. I have 14 years experience working in organisational development in a variety of leadership roles including leading national projects. I particularly enjoy developing the potential of individuals and teams and have worked extensively with medical staff.

I am a Myers-Briggs facilitator and can work with both individuals and teams using the Myers-Briggs Type indicator.

I run short continuing professional development courses covering a range of subjects e.g. managing change, working in turbulent organisations, developing teams, role analysis and developing leadership skills.

I also run 1 day workshops on management and leadership skills, managing conflict, influencing and negotiating, improving performance, resilience and working in complex organisations.

All of the above can be developed to suit your requirements.
